Call for Papers

We are pleased to announce a call for papers for the Workshop on Climate Change and Migration: Economic and Financial Implications to be held in person in Santiago, Chile, on April Thursday 16th and Friday 17th, 2026.

We are honored to host Giovanni Peri from UC Davis as our keynote speaker.

The workshop will be held in person and there is no registration fee. A limited amount of funding is available to support travel or accommodation expenses. Please indicate in your submission if you would like to be considered for financial support.

Submission Guidelines

Decisions will be communicated to authors by February 28, 2026.

Topics of Interest

We welcome theoretical and empirical papers on topics including, but not limited to:

  • The economic drivers of climate-induced migration and displacement.
  • Impacts of climate migration on labor markets, wages, and inequality in both sending and
  • receiving regions.
  • The role of policy in managing climate migration.
  • Methodological advances in modeling and measuring the climate-migration relation.
  • The fiscal and social impacts of climate-related population movements.
  • The financial implications of climate-induced migration and displacement.
